Raw Cranberry Chia Seed Jam

It’s that time of year when Cranberries are on everyone’s dining table, from Thanksgiving to Christmas these beautiful tart berries are the perfect accompaniment to lunch with the family. They are also incredibly good for you and packed with vitamins and minerals like Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Folate. They are also off the scale in the antioxidant department so another great reason to use them during the festive season. And this recipe is fully raw!

Chia seeds are groovy versatile little seeds, that when soaked in water, create a jelly-like consistency which is how we are going to make this jam. They are rich in Omega 3 oils which are essential to looking and feeling great! Perfect for the party season. :)

So to celebrate Thanksgiving Gee Palmer our Nutritionist has designed this quick and easy Raw Cranberry Chia Seed Jam that you can serve with your roast turkey, on toast, pancakes, muffins or just eat straight from the bowl.




1 cup of Dried Cranberries
1 1/4  cups of water
1 teaspoon of Chia Seeds
The zest of half an orange
1 teaspoon of Raw Honey or Agave 


Mix the cranberries, water, orange peel and chia seeds together in a bowl and allow to soak for about an hour. The mixture will form a jelly like consistency.

Then add the honey or agave and put in a high speed processor or blender and blend until there are no pieces of cranberry left and the jam is smooth.

Serve and enjoy, or refrigerate until needed.
