Quinoa Porridge

Fancy something tasty and delicious for breakfast? Quinoa is a healthy nutty grain that can be made into savoury or sweet recipes. It’s gluten free, high in protein and quinoa porridge is a healthy alternative when you want a satisfying breakfast to get you through the day.

For this recipe we topped it with bananas and blueberries, but you can add any berries, nuts, seeds or fruit you like. It’s also a nice warming treat to have anytime so don’t just save it for breakfast!


150g quinoa (any colour we used mixed red and white)
350 ml water
100ml of almond milk ( you can use rice, hazelnut, or cashew)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1tsp of cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon of chopped walnuts
1/2 banana
handful of fresh blueberries
2 teaspoons of honey


Rinse the quinoa well in cold water.

Place in a saucepan with 350ml of water and cook for 10-12 minutes till soft and tender.

Drain the water and return to the pan with almond milk, cinnamon, and honey and heat gently for 5 mins to combine.

Top with blueberries and banana and a drizzle of honey. Enjoy!
